Zip me up
Snug as a bug in a rug
Raindrops on the roof
I revel in the sounds and smells of a spring storm
Lightning, thunder puts slumber asunder
Wind roars above
Sleeping bag saves me
I hide deep within
All zipped up.

This is for d’Verse quadrille. The challenge was Zip.
The caravan before the rain!
Oh, my goodness. I sooooo want to be there! The sound of rain on roof is one of my favorites!

The best place to be in a storm…all zipped up.

I’m thinking that being zipped up in a sleeping bag wouldn’t be much consolation if the tin caravan was hit by lightning, but that’s me. Ever the optimist 🙂

I so enjoyed imagining snuggling up in a sleeping bag, Alison, with the rain pattering on the roof. I haven’t done that in so many years. I also enjoy a good storm. At the moment, I can hear the rain on my window and soon I’ll be snuggling up under my duvet but there’s no zip!

“I revel in the sounds and smells of a spring storm” … Ooh, me too.
What a great line: “Lightning, thunder puts slumber asunder”

I like the sound of a thunderstorm from inside a brick building. I don’t think I could handle it in a travel trailer. You are made of tougher stuff than me. Bully for you

Lovely imagery – took me back to the (smelly) caravan holidays we went on when I was a kid. Being on the top bunk was always exciting on a stormy night.

I used to have the top bunk, but it was always hot from the gas-light. I definitely remember the smell, caravanning today is a lot more gentile. XX

Oh yes!!! We used to always tent camp — always loved that feeling of being snug in a sleeping bag, with just your face sticking out, and some mornings a cold nose 😊 Thanks for the memories!
