There’s no such thing as a free lunch
A job worth doing is worth doing well
Pearls of wisdom
From mother’s repertoire of sayings.
She believed that when one door closes
Somewhere a window opens,
That a kindness given
Is a teardrop in heaven.

This is a quadrille for d’Verse. The word we were given was free.
So many great pieces of wisdom we are given… love your tribute and sweet set of pictures.

Wonderful photographs Alison and I love the well-intentioned wisdom passed down by mother, especially ‘when one door closes somewhere a window opens’ :o) xxx

Nice sayings from your mother. It is the first time I’ve heard the one about kindness and a teardrop in heaven.

Touched – mothers’ sweet wisdom – reminds me of my mum’s sayings – infuriating and comforting at the same time.

Love these sayings. My mom used some of these….and always said to wear a hat in the winter because “97% of your body heat escapes from your head!” 🙂 Great take on the prompt!

We used to say there was a Mother’s Book of Sayings. But the words hold universal wisdom. (K)
