The promenade bathed in winter sunshine,
Seagulls, chips and gravy, Blackpool rock
Then the Winter Gardens in all her splendour
bringing memories and echoes of a bygone era.
Reminiscing on a lifetime of cherished holidays
Whispers of childhood wishes and ghosts of summers past.

The challenge for tonight’s quadrille was Ghost. Today we revisited many ghosts as we took a road trip to Blackpool a place that will always hold a special place in my heart.
I love your Blackpool ghosts, Alison! I can just see it – we have our smaller versions in Cromer and Great Yarmouth, although not so grand. I love the pictures your words conjure in my mind, especially the ‘…promenade bathed in winter sunshine,
Seagulls, chips and gravy, Blackpool rock’.
I’ve only ever seen Blackpool on the TV.

Love this! It describes those feelings so well….when looking at old photographs, or returning to the town where you grew up.

Excellent blend of nostalgia and departed happiness. Descriptive.

Your photos are the perfect compliment to your Q44. I, too, lamented about the “you can’t go back” syndrome.
